Inspired by Virginia Woolf’s celebrated essay A Room of One’s Own, the film explores themes of female empowerment, creative genius, and social redemption through the symbolic figure of Shakespeare’s sister.

This is the original score for the short film J. Shakespeare, directed by Karin Proia and based on an idea by Annalisa Aglioti (adapted from Virginia Woolf’s essay “A Room of One’s Own”). Produced by Webreak Production and Annalisa Aglioti with support from the NUOVOIMAIE grant, the film premiered at the *Alice nella Città* section of the 2026 Rome Film Fest. The score weaves together acoustic sounds and orchestral textures to give voice to the story’s emotional and creative journey toward redemption.
